Black and white photo of the passenger steamship, SS Hamonic, which is on fire at Point Edward, Ontario. The ship was owned by the Northern Navigation Division of Canada Steamship Lines. It caught fire while at the dock on July 17, 1945, and was destroyed. A fire department ladder truck with a folding life net can be seen in the foreground. The burning ship and clouds of smoke are visible in the background. A black ink stamp on the verso shows "Portraits - Commercial Work, Bury Studio, Sarnia, Ontario."
