Booklet of General Plans
One plan sheet entitled, "Booklet of General Plans." The drawing consists of black ink on linen and appears to be the cover sheet for a set of plans. The sheet shows reduced-size images of the drawings that are depicted on sheets 2 through 9 of the plan set, including various plan, profile, and cross-section views of the proposed vessel. Tables of general information and capacities are shown in the upper left corner area of the sheet. The plans show an existing sidewheel steamship, the SS Seeandbee, being converted to an aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Wolverine. A new flight deck was built on the old steamship hull. The name, "U.S.S. Wolverine," has been stamped in black ink at several locations on the sheet. The title block in the lower right corner shows that the drawing number, "H355-77," was prepared by the "American Ship Building Co." at a scale of 1/16 inch = 1 foot and is dated August, 1942.
