The photo shows an aerial view of the new Erie dry dock facility being constructed by Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company for Litton Industries. The framework of a large building can be seen under construction in the left foreground with the dry dock excavation area being visible in the right background. A long warehouse building, "Erie International Marine Terminal No. 1, Port of Erie, Pennsylvania," can be seen along the dock at the left side of the photo. The bulk carrier freighter, SS Henry G. Dalton, of the Interlake Steamship Company is moored at a dock at the far right side. Handwritten ink text on the verso shows "Friday, 10/11/68, W.G.R."
