One black and white photograph of marine construction work being done on the Livingstone Channel in the lower Detroit River. The photo shows two small barges that are being used to construct an earth dam across a section of the river. The dam is visible in the left foreground with the two barges at the right. Dipper dredges and a tugboat can be seen in the left background and a shoreline is visible in the right background. Handwritten text along the lower left edge of the photo reads "Building the dam, Livingstone Channel." The work was being done by the Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company.
