One black and white photograph of marine construction work being done on the Livingstone Channel in the lower Detroit River. The photo shows a view of the rock face along one side of the channel that was being cut through solid rock for the new freighter channel (Livingstone Channel) in the lower Detroit River. Piles of excavated rock can be seen on top of the rock cut area. A wood truss tower is visible In the upper left background. This was one of the temporary overhead cableway towers which supported 10-ton skips (large bins) that were used to remove excavated material from the project area. The work was done by the Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company.
