Photograph. Black and white photo showing a classic wooden runabout that is moving slowly on the Detroit River. The view shows a captain and two crew members who are operating the boat while two male passengers (in dress attire) are seated in the back. The boat has a U. S. yacht ensign on the stern and is flying an "RC" (Race Committee) flag at the bow. It is a clear, calm, and sunny day on the river. The two passengers on the boat are probably company or municipal officials who are observing the raising of aerial power lines that are to be placed across the river between the Delray power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor. A workboat and the Great Lakes Steel Corporation site can be seen in the left background area of the photo. The Detroit Edison Delray electric power plant and its coal piles are visible in the right background.
