Photograph. Black and white photo showing a classic wooden runabout that is moving slowly on the Detroit River. The view shows a captain and two crew members who are operating the boat while two male passengers (in dress attire) are seated in the back. The two passengers are probably company or municipal officials who are observing the raising of aerial power lines that were to be placed across the river between the Delray power plant and the Ontario Hydro J. C. Keith Generating Station in Windsor. The boat is flying an "RC" (Race Committee) pennant on the bow and a U. S. yacht ensign on the stern. It is a clear, calm, and sunny day on the river. A steel lattice transmission line tower can be seen in the background on the Canadian shoreline along with parked cars and workmen. A barge can be seen to the left of the tower base.
