Transparency, Lantern-slide

Glass Lantern-Slide. Bears a series of four graphs relating to the Mistersky power station's activity in December of 1930. The x-axis for all is labeled with the days of the month. The top graph is plotted with the status of each of the eight boilers for each day--either steaming, banked, continuously banked, in reserve, or under repair. The next graph indicates the number of boilers in service. Five boilers work on weekdays, four on weekends, and the period between Christmas and New Year's Eve. The following section shows the peak load in megawatts. During the week, the number hovers around 45. On weekends, and during the holidays, the number drops as low as 26. The next graph records the number of turbines in service. It follows a similar pattern, remaining at five for most the week, then dropping to four in the days leading to the weekend or holiday. The bottom graph shows the status of the four turbines throughout the month--condenser cleaned, on line, in reserve, or under repair. "10" is handwritten on a sticker affixed to the recto. The edge of the slide is covered in black tape.
