Bowl

Bowl Fragment: white ceramic with bluish purple neoclassical designs. A partial scene of three Greek vases or urns, and flowers against a backdrop of trees, an archway, and steps decorates the outside. The large urn on left features figures in classical garb flanking a classical pedestal. A band consisting of a braid tops a pattern of flowers, and acanthus leaves interspersed between steep curves surrounds what remains of the inner rim. Recovered from wreck of the schooner ALVIN CLARK, which foundered in Lake Michigan in 1864.
