A maker's mark depicting a two-tiered dome adorned with a column at its peak is located on the cup's base. The dome is flanked with the dates 1827 and 1927. The text surrounding and below reads, "Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, Shenango China, New Castle, PA."
This collection of blue and white china was used in the dining cars of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad during the 100th anniversary of the founding of the line. The china is styled in the manner of the Old Staffordshire China.
