Transparency, Slide
One color slide transparency that shows an image of the Detroit 250th Birthday parade which took place on Saturday, July 28, 1951, on Woodward Avenue. The view looks northeastward from the west side of Woodward Avenue at Charlotte Street. Woodward Avenue can be seen in the foreground along with a float that was sponsored by the Aero Club of Michigan and featured a replica of the "1903 Wright Glider." Stores, office buildings, and spectators can be seen on the east side of Woodward in the background. Business names that are visible include Schmansky Brothers Men's Tailors, Bankle Supply Company, and Mirror Hall. Handwritten blue ink text on the cardboard slide frame reads "Det. 250 Anniv. Parade."
