Transparency, Slide
One color slide transparency that shows an image of the Detroit 250th Birthday parade which took place on Saturday, July 28, 1951, on Woodward Avenue. The view looks eastward from the west side of Woodward Avenue at Charlotte Street. Woodward Avenue can be seen in the foreground along with a marching band. Stores, office buildings, and spectators can be seen on the east side of Woodward in the background. Business names that are visible include: Fast Service Cleaners, Watson Loan, Schmansky Brothers Men's Tailors, and the Fine Arts Theatre. Handwritten blue ink text on the cardboard slide frame reads "Det. Parade."
