The view looks northeastward from the west side of Woodward Avenue at Charlotte Street. Woodward Avenue can be seen in the foreground along with two people in patriotic costumes, two people in a horse costume, and a marching band. Stores, office buildings, and spectators can be seen on the east side of Woodward in the background. The rounded dome of the Bonstelle Theatre can be seen in the center background. Business names that are visible include: Allied Music Sales Corporation, Watson Loan, Schmansky Brothers Men's Tailors, and the Fine Arts Theatre. Handwritten blue ink text on the cardboard slide frame reads "Aug., 1951, Det. Parade."
