Cup, Demitasse
One demitasse cup and saucer from a dining room of the Pickands Mather & Company steamship fleet. The cup is made of white glazed china. It is has a rounded top edge, a plain round handle with a narrow red stripe on the outside, and curved sides that form a narrower rounded bottom with a short circular base. Narrow red and blue stripes encircle the cup along the midpoint and a red/white/blue image of the "PM Co." company flag is stamped on the front of the cup above the stripes. The saucer has a curved rim with a rounded outer edge. Matching red and blue stripes encircle the top surface of the saucer along the inner edge of the rim. Also, a red/white/blue image of the "PM Co." company flag is stamped on one area of the saucer rim above the stripes. The undersides of both pieces are stamped with black text that reads "Walker China, Vitrified," and "Bedford, Ohio." In addition, the number, "F-52," is stamped on the underside of the cup and "B-52" is stamped on the underside of the saucer.
