Plate, Butter

One small butter plate from a dining room of one of the steamships of the United States Steel Corporation fleet. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has short curved sides with a rounded top edge. Narrow green/gray stripes encircle the top surface along the outer edge and along the bottom at the base of the curved sides. The company logo, consisting of a green/gray circle with the letters, "USS," at the center, is stamped at the center. The underside is stamped with the number, "251," in black ink. No manufacturer's name or marks are shown.
