Plate, Dessert
One dessert plate from a dining room of one of the steamships of the United States Steel Corporation fleet. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has a flat, slightly upturned rim and a thickened outer edge. Narrow blue stripes encircle the rim along the outer and inner edges. The company logo, consisting of a blue circle with the letters, "USS," at the center, is stamped on one area of the rim between the stripes. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Mayer China, Beaver Falls, PA," and "Hand Painted, Patented, 256."
