Black and white photograph (and 2 copies) of the uncovering of the casket of the first Governor of Michigan, Stevens T. Mason, in Capitol Park, Detroit, on June 1, 1955. Kent Sagendorph (left) of the Historical Society of Michigan and Robert E. Palmer (right) of the Detroit Historical Museum are standing on the edges of a concrete vault at the head of the casket. The casket was removed on reburied at a new location in Capitol Park on December 5, 1955.
