Black and white photograph (and 2 copies) of the disinterment of the casket of the first Governor of Michigan, Stevens T. Mason, in Capitol Park, Detroit, on June 1, 1955. Workman are lifting the casket out of the grave while various officials are standing in the background. A large crowd of spectators can be seen on the sidewalk in the far background. The casket was reburied at a new location in Capitol Park on December 5, 1955.
