Black and white photograph (and 2 copies) of the disinterment of the casket of the first Governor of Michigan, Stevens T. Mason, in Capitol Park, Detroit, on June 1, 1955. Kent Sagendorph (left) of the Historical Society of Michigan is holding the silver nameplate from the casket. Robert E. Palmer (right) of the Detroit Historical Museum is standing on the edge of a concrete vault at the head of the casket. The casket was reburied at a new location in Capitol Park on December 5, 1955.
