One black and white photograph of the Flynn Memorial Pavilion under construction on Belle Isle in Detroit. The view looks eastward across the construction site and shows recently-completed concrete foundations and flooring for the building. New steel columns and beams can be seen in the foreground along with steel pipes for plumbing and conduits for electrical outlets. A large group of workmen can be seen in the left background with the old Belle Isle Pavilion visible beyond them. Lake Tacoma is visible in the center and right background. The Detroit River and Windsor, Ontario, shoreline are partially visible in the far background in the upper center area of the photo. A small title block in the lower right corner has printed text that reads " City of Detroit, Contract No. PR-63, Flynn Memorial, Emil Van Sile Co., East from NW [Northwest] Corner Bldg., Photo No. 5, Date: 7-5-49, Lens-Art Photographers." The photo is mounted on white canvas and includes a canvas strip along the left edge to allow for placement in a binder or album.
