One black and white photograph of the Flynn Memorial Pavilion under construction on Belle Isle in Detroit. The view looks eastward across the construction site and shows a close-up image of a large wooden deck under construction along the south side of the building. Scaffolding can be seen along one of the new exterior walls of natural fieldstone at the center of the photo and a covered bench can be seen to the right. Two workmen can be seen in the background along with piles of lumber and debris. The old Belle Isle Pavilion is partially visible beyond the trees in the far background. Lake Tacoma can be seen at the right edge of the photo. A small title block in the lower right corner has printed text that reads " City of Detroit, Contract No. PR-63, Flynn Memorial, Emil Van Sile Co., East from SW [Southwest] Corner Bldg., Photo No. 12, Date: 9-13-49, Lens-Art Photographers." The photo is mounted on white canvas and includes a canvas strip along the left edge to allow for placement in a binder or album.
