One black and white photograph of the Flynn Memorial Pavilion under construction on Belle Isle in Detroit. The elevated view looks eastward across the construction site and shows a view of a covered walkway at the entrance on the north side of the building. A workbench, pallets of concrete blocks, and piles of debris can be seen in the lower foreground. One workman can be seen on the ground and several can be seen on the roof. The old Belle Isle Pavilion is partially visible near the upper left corner of the photo and a short section of Lake Tacoma is visible at the center right edge. A small title block in the lower right corner has text that reads " City of Detroit, Contract No. PR-63, Flynn Memorial, Emil Van Sile Co., East from SW [Southwest] Corner Bldg., Photo No. 13, Date: 9-13-49, Lens-Art Photographers." The photo is mounted on white canvas and includes a canvas strip along the left edge to allow for placement in a binder or album.
