One black and white photograph of the Flynn Memorial Pavilion under construction on Belle Isle in Detroit. The view looks eastward across the construction site and shows recently-completed concrete foundations and flooring for the building. New steel columns and beams can be seen in the foreground along with steel pipes for plumbing and conduits for electrical outlets. Workmen can be seen at various locations across the site. Piles of debris and lumber can be seen in the foreground and background. The old Belle Isle Pavilion and the edge of Lake Tacoma are visible in the right background. A small title block in the lower right corner has printed text that reads " City of Detroit, Contract No. PR-63, Flynn Memorial, Emil Van Sile Co., East from SW [Southwest] Corner Bldg., Photo No. 6, Date: 7-5-49, Lens-Art Photographers." The photo is mounted on white canvas and includes a canvas strip along the left edge to allow for placement in a binder or album.
