One black and white photograph of the Flynn Memorial Pavilion under construction on Belle Isle in Detroit. The view looks northeastward and shows Lake Tacoma in the foreground with the new one-story natural fieldstone, wood, and glass building visible in the background. Scaffolding, workmen, and building materials can be seen on the large wooden deck which runs between the building and lake edge. Many large trees can be seen in the far background. The old Belle Isle Pavilion is partially visible at the right edge of the photo. A small title block in the lower right corner has text that reads " City of Detroit, Contract No. PR-63, Flynn Memorial, Emil Van Sile Co., NE [Northeast] from SW [Southwest] Corner Bldg., Photo No. 14, Date: 9-13-49, Lens-Art Photographers." The photo is mounted on white canvas and includes a canvas strip along the left edge to allow for placement in a binder or album.
