Carving

One African American folk art wood carving of a pointer. The carving was done from a single piece of medium-grained wood and has a narrow, square shaft that tapers to a point. The shaft is embellished with eight intricate "ball-in-a-cage" carvings. The wood has been sanded smooth and has been minimally finished with an oil or stain that gives the surface a dark brown color.
