Carving

One African American folk art wood carving of a chain of interlocked boxes. The carving was done from a single rod of medium-grained wood and depicts four long, narrow, linked boxes. Each box includes an intricate "ball-in-a-cage" carving. The wood has been sanded smooth and has been minimally finished with an oil or stain that gives the surface a dark brown (almost black) color.
