Carving
One African American folk art wood carving of a section of chain with boxes at the ends. The carving was done from a single rod of medium-grained wood and depicts 34 separate chain links with small, narrow boxes at the ends. Each box includes a half link at one end as well as an intricate "ball-in-a-cage" carving. The wood appears to be unfinished and has a medium brown color.
