Plate, Butter
One small butter plate from the dining room of the tanker, Mobil New York, of the Mobil Oil Corporation. The round plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has short curved sides with a rounded top edge. Narrow blue stripes encircle the top surface of the plate just inside the outer edge and at the base of the curved side. The rectangular company logo, consisting of the name, "Mobil," with a small red Pegasus image, is stamped on one side of the plate between the stripes. The underside is stamped with black text that reads "Shenango China, U.S.A.," and "RimRol, WelRoc, M21."
