Plate, Luncheon
One lunch plate from the tanker, NEW HAVEN SOCONY, of the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company. The plate is made of heavyweight, white glazed china. It has curved sides, a rounded and thickened top rim, and a flat bottom. Narrow blue stripes are located on the top surface of the plate below the rim and at the base of the curved side. On one area of the rim, the company logo is stamped between the stripes. The logo shows a blue and white company burgee with a red Pegasus at the center. The plate underside is stamped with a green logo that shows a seated Indian along with green text that reads "Shenango China, New Castle, PA."
