A Michigan Bell Telephone company manhole and ventilation duct can be seen at the shoreline in the lower foreground. Several small trees are visible nearby and seven workmen and engineers are standing at the top of bank. A Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company barge with a cable reel and crane can be seen on the river in the center background area of the photo. The Grosse Ile shoreline is visible in the far background.
