Four Michigan Bell Telephone company engineers (wearing hardhats) are standing on a bank at the Grosse Ile shoreline in the foreground. A Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company barge with a cable reel and crane can be seen on the river in the center area of the photo. The tugboat, Paddy Miles, is tied off the left side of the barge. In the far background, the hazy outline of the Trenton shoreline is faintly visible.
