One black and white photograph of the work operations for laying an underwater telephone cable across the Trenton Channel of the lower Detroit River. The photo shows three workmen who are standing on the deck of a Dunbar & Sullivan Company barge. Rain is pouring down and all three a wearing life jackets and rain gear. The Detroit River, a shoreline, and the tugboat Paddy Miles can be seen in the background. Black in stamps on the verso read "Photo by Harry Taylor, 843 St. Louis, Ferndale, Mich. 48220. (313) 544-7240," and "Oct. 4, 1973."
