Drawing
Drawing of Fort Wayne on board, depicting the plans for a proposed restoration project from the mid-1960s. The drawing depicts the Fort Wayne grounds, with Jefferson Avenue acting as the upper border and the Detroit River acting as the lower border. The text on the bottom in the center reads "Fort Wayne Restoration including the Historic Fort, proposed Detroit Industrial History Museum, and other historic features and waterfront improvements." Among the proposed additions to the Fort Wayne grounds are a reconstructed Fort Pontchartrain, an Old French Farm, a bandstand, a missile monument, a Detroit Industrial History Museum, a river observation deck and drive, a new parking area, a boat launch, as well as the removal of many existing buildings. Also depicted is an 1890's area, which was to retain several of the already existing buildings, and the Historic Fort Wayne itself.
